The Network for
Nihilism
|
In case
you missed it, the ruling class has declared war on everyone
else. They didn’t broadcast it on the nightly news, the
President or the Prime Minister didn’t go on national television
and make an official declaration of war, but nevertheless this
war is real, and it’s happening right now. And guess what else?
You can’t run away and there’s no safe place to hide, the clowns
in power will track you down and take you out because they don’t
care about national boundaries or international rules. From
Chile to Greece and back to China, your country or your language
or color, it doesn’t matter anymore; and the longer we
wait to fight back, the tougher the war is going to be to win.
Unless you
want to be locked in a stifling room sewing underpants for five
cents an hour when you’re 65 in a ‘Free Trade Zone’ surrounded
by razor-wire, with some junta Army colonel jabbing you in the
back with a bayonet, you’d better get your ass in gear now. And
the FTZ factory is where you, and the people you care about, are
going to end up if they’re lucky.
We didn’t
start this war, it was unilaterally declared on everyone on the
planet, animal plant and human, not rich enough to rent a
temporary exemption. But now we have two options: either give up
and get crushed, or fight back any way and every way that we
possibly can. Write a blog, get a Twitter account and use it,
make a scene in front of a bank or government office, and if
they shoot at you then shoot back. Even if you're not directly
involved, report what you see and hear.
Call
yourself an anarchist, communist, Satanist, I don’t even really
care right now; half the point of Nihilism is to go beyond
ideological impediments anyway. So, if you aren’t making the
effort to fight this economic, religious, and political war that
has been declared against us, don’t wait any longer. And if you
have been doing something to help supersede this corrupt
and brutal ruling class and dysfunctional cultural order, thank
you and keep it up.

What is the Network?
|
The Network for Nihilism is an
experimental effort to be your eyes and ears for Nihilism and related
actions and events around the world. This page consists of feeds of
messages concerning actions and events primarily focused on nihilism.
This can include anything from a protest witnessed or involved in, to
a movie or website seen that has a relation to nihilism.
To get a sense of the effort
underway here, consider three keywords:
Awareness,
Warning, Participation
-
Awareness of critical events and
information
-
Warning of impending actions by
authorities (top-down) or by groups and activists and individuals
(grassroots, top-up)
-
Provide important and timely
information so that Nihilists, and others, can get involved
If you see an event or activity
listed that you'd like to get involved in contact the author.

Map
of Insurrection
|
After decades, of social and
economic, decay signs of rebellion and the fires of insurrection
are finally igniting one by one across the globe. This map
depicts a few of those major current events: |
|
 |
|
1. Chile –
Student protests
"Why do we need education? To make
profits. To make a business? Or to develop the country and have
social integration and development? Those are the issues in
dispute." –
Camila Vallejo
2. Egypt – Revolution
to overthrow dictator (successful)
Egypt – Revolution to overthrow military rule (in progress)
We're not fighting any political party [in
Egypt], or the army, or the Muslim Brotherhood – we're fighting
a structure. And that's what the liberal political elite don't
seem to understand. I'd much rather have the Muslim Brotherhood
in place and get rid of SCAF than I would have [liberal
figurehead] Mohamed ElBaradei running the government but leave
SCAF in power. The revolution against SCAF is now; there will be
time later to play the reformist, gradualist game where we sit
down and argue over minute policy differences. –
Khalid Abdalla, November 2011
3. Israel – Protests against
high cost of living, spreading to include challenge of Zionist
establishment
4. India –
widespread
protests against corrupt government and bribery
Sent to Freydis via email:

"There's an ongoing nationwide non-violent
protest against the corrupt government in India. There are also
various creative protests going on like people gathering with
spoon and plate (steel) and banging them as protest, surrounding
houses of ministers and giving them roses and get well soon
messages..."
5. Greece – Insurrection
against take-over of Greece by international finance
6. United States –
Occupy [various locations]; group presence to bring attention to pressing
economic and social issues, now primarily the grossly
disproportional distribution of wealth.
For many naïve
Americans, witnessing the brutal police crackdown on Occupy
protestors has been an eye-opening experience (after the tear
gas wears off), revealing the
police to be what they primarily are: violent stooges used to
sustain a wholly rotten establishment.

Occupy Albany New
York:
To briefly summarize, the police have just
become a tool to used by authorities to silence dissent instead
of being an actual public service which is its purported goal.
During the very calm and peaceful Occupy Albany protest police
indiscriminately pepper-sprayed the protesters and tore down
encampments on public property; it's no surprise that this
coincides with NY's tax break for millionaires. This mirrors
similar events around the country, such as the recent UC Davis
protest which was met with pepper-spray. If anything is becoming
apparent in this new milieu it's that reformism is dead,
therefore it's only through wholesale destruction that any
lasting change can be achieved. –

Just to update with what's going on here
in New York, yesterday marked the first day of Occupy Albany
(the NY capitol) with around 300 participants. It was hardly
very organized, coherent or cohesive, but it's certainly more
effective than doing nothing at all. Anyway it seems to me that
the sum of the parts is more dramatic than the isolated
instances regardless, meaning that the fact that all of these
protests are spreading globally due to the advent of global
communication is much more astonishing than any one event in
particular. Whether the participant is merely centrist or any of
the modernate to extreme leftist ideologies I've noticed
represented, it seems clear that eroding borders is an emergent
property of this age. –
